With summer nearly upon United States, water parks across the world are filling up with kids and adults trying to find a fun way to relax on a hot day. And thanks to this unimaginable new water park known as Morgan’s Inspiration Island in San Antonio, Texas, folks with disabilities can also be part of the fun!
Water parks are notoriously inaccessible for the disabled, however Morgan’s Inspiration Island aims to change all that because it’s the world’s first water park designed specifically for folks with disabilities.
"Our goal is to produce an excellent guest experience in an inclusive, safe, comfy, not-overly-crowded atmosphere,” says park founder Gordon Hartman, who worked with doctors, parents, teachers, special needs therapists, and caregivers so as to form an extension to Morgan’s Wonderland that caters to folks with all kinds of disability.
The venue offers traceable bracelets that permit parents to find their kids, and it also provides PneuChairs, air-powered, waterproof wheelchairs that families can rent without charge. every part of the park is wheelchair-accessible and kids with “special needs” can enter the park for free of charge. The park even has the power to quickly change the heat of the water in order to accommodate guests who are sensitive to the cold!
